What inspired you to join Parentaly’s CHRO Advisory Board?
“As a working mother and business leader, I’ve experienced both sides of the parental leave journey - and truthfully, most workplaces still don’t get it right. I joined Parentaly’s advisory board because I believe deeply in their mission. They’re not just offering a policy or a perk; they’re helping organizations design human-centered systems of support for new parents. That matters: to the people we work with, to the culture we build and to the future we want to create.”
What’s broken about how companies handle parental leave today?
“Too often, companies focus narrowly on the policy - meaning how many weeks, what’s paid, what’s not - and overlook the human experience surrounding it. We don’t prepare managers well, we don’t guide parents through the transition out and back in, and stigma still lingers, particularly for fathers and non-birthing parents. This leads to many parents feeling anxious, unsupported or even penalized during what should be a joyful, transformative time.”
What excites you most about Parentaly’s mission and this moment in time?
“We’re at an inflection point. Leaders are becoming more open, more vulnerable and more willing to rethink how they support their people. Parentaly is at the heart of this shift, helping organizations move beyond “checking the box” to reimagining caregiver support in ways that are sustainable, scalable and deeply human. That’s not just progressive; it’s powerful.”
What impact do you hope to make as part of this board?
“I want to bring both empathy and execution to the table, which means helping organizations move from “we should do better” to “here’s exactly how we will do better.” My goal is to amplify the voices and needs of working parents, while championing practical tools and strategies that make action easier. If we can help even a handful of companies improve how they support people during one of life’s biggest transitions, that’s an impact I’d be proud to be part of.”
